Each sock can be measured only once. All measurements on different sock profiles should always be taken at the same place.
Procedure for Measuring Cross Stretch: TOP
Top: Close the scissors until the locking pin snaps to hold the scissors closed (Figure 1). Place the sock top on the cross stretch arms centering the fabric (Figure 2) across the arm fingers (Figure 3). Push the locking pin and slowly release the scissor arms at a constant rate (Figure 4). Remove your hand from one side of the scissors handles (Figure 5). Take the reading from the rule when movement of the scissors stops (Figure 6).
